All volunteers and chaperones working directly with children must be over the age of 18, must attend a VIRTUS® session, and successfully complete a criminal and child abuse background check through Texas Health and Human Services (THHS) and attend training and orientation.

VIRTUS® training is an awareness session which provides information and training to adults for the protection of children and vulnerable adults in the world around them. The VIRTUS® program not only educates participants on how to recognize and prevent potentially abusive situations but also fosters an environment of vigilance and responsibility.
